Hello!

My name is Haley Wollschlager and I am the K-12 School Counselor. I am happy to be a part of the Herman-Norcross School District. I am originally from Madison, MN graduating from Lac qui Parle Valley High School in 2019. I received my undergraduate in Human Services and Psychology from the University of Minnesota, Morris in 2023. I will complete my Master’s degree in School Counseling at Minnesota State University, Moorhead in May of 2025. This is my second year here at Herman-Norcross and I love being a part of the BUCS and Warriors!

I like to spend my spare time with friends and family, summers at the lake, attending sporting events, being an aunt, and working out when I can.

I have a passion for School Counseling and I LOVE being at a small school district because it allows me to connect one-on-one with each student. I will be able to support your student's personal/social, career, and academic needs, be your student's biggest advocate and a strong support for you as well. As your School Counselor, I hope to help your child grow, learn, find your passions and enjoy school. I can't wait to see what the 2024-2025 school year has in store!

I have some fun lessons planned for the school year and I am very excited for another great year at HNCS! Be sure to check out my parent connection after each lesson to see what we are talking about and please feel free to reach out if you have anything you would like to discuss about your student(s).

WHAT IS A SCHOOL COUNSELOR?

A School Counselor helps students with their personal/social, career, and academic needs. School Counselors offer support to students who are struggling with a variety of issues and help them work through problems and develop the tools necessary to succeed. A School Counselor works to promote a safe and nurturing school environment.

So what exactly does my School Counselor do?

We are great listeners! We enjoy spending time together, playing games, learning more about ourselves, and having conversations. We usually do this one-on-one or in groups with other students. Your school counselor might also visit your classroom to talk about important topics like bullying, emotions, friendships, careers, and more! The best part about talking to your school counselor is that whatever you share stays between you and the counselor. Nobody else has to know UNLESS of course there is a safety concern and it becomes unsafe for you or for other students. School counselors work closely with your teachers, parents, principal, and other important people to help you be the best version of yourself!
